In mid december last year I wrote a report called the $6000 blog post in which I showed how to create an income by selling physical products. As the name suggests at that point I had made $6000 from a blog post and a couple of articles. As you can imagine, I was happy.  By the end of January that income had climed to almost $20,000. I was very happy!

At the time of writing the initial report I thought that would be where things finished but I had such great feedback from the people who bought it that I expanded the idea and included all the ways I make money from Wordpress. This was released earlier this yeat as Wordpress Goldmine.

As it’s got closer to christmas the site I built and promoted last year has started to increase it’s income so as of today between Amazon, ebay and adsense it’s earning me in excess of $100 per day. This will increase as we get closer to christmas.

There seems to be some perverse human characteristic that likes to make easy things difficult

How true that is! Hardly a day goes past that I don’t come across some a site or a problem that has been made worse by people overthinking.  Internet marketing is on paper one of the easiest ways of making money. You create a site , you add some monetization, then you get traffic to the site..end result you make money.  Compare that to working a real job, you get up , you battle through traffic, you go to your place of work, you stay there for 8 hours, you do some work to make someone else money, you go home and at the end of the month you get paid.. (unless you work for Lehmans!) . Then the next day you do the same again.  Now remind me why I choose this IM lifestyle rather than a “real Job”??

The problem with internet marketing is that people try to complicate it, theres a product coming out at the end of the month that will cost $2000 that shows you how someone has build a $1300 a month income from 1 site…wow whoopee $2000 for that.  You’ll also find that a certain Ferrari driving internet marketer who loves to talk about his big house and yacht,  launches (re-Hashes) a couple of products a year about how he makes his millions. He simply makes that money by building a list by selling the very products he’s promoting then selling other peoples products to that list.. Simple… and it shouldn’t take $97 or $197 to find that out.

All products like that will do is confuse you more, maybe 1 out of 1000 people will follow those methods through to the end and make a good income, the rest will just buy the next product that comes out.  A lot Marketers make their money by persuading you that Internet marketing is difficult and that you need loads of tools and software to make money.. you don’t

Remember it’s simple..  Site, Monetization, Promotion thats it.   If you are a long time reader you’ll know that last november I set up a site , wrote 1 article promoted 1 product and earned $20,000..  Site… Monetization…Promotion. When I wrote Wordpress Goldmine I went out of my way to show that creating an income is simple and that anyone can do it. If I can make a living this way anyone can.

Over complicating things and over thinking can really hold you back .  I’ve know people to take 6 weeks to plan a site and work out what they wanted to do ..arggggh that makes me so mad.. what was it Robin Williams said in Dead Poets Society? Carpe Diem/ Sieze the day. Well here’s my version.. Just bloody build it and worry about tweaking it later!

If you look back to the post a made a few weeks ago (August 29th- scaling the heights) I set a challenge. I wonder if anyone did it?  I did exactly what I said in the challenge and I now have a site earning upto $5 a day and getting 100 visitors per day. It’s a simple method and it works.

Don’t let anyone tell you Internet Marketing is difficult, it’s only as difficult as you make it.
